Hello..."BlackBird" is digital available > This song includes typical blues & rock elements. The lyrics reproach the leaders and their work and demand all common people to move on. The Bird is the sensible indicator of environment and a confident call for action too -"the world is going mad - with little wings you can touch the sky … move on" ... [ Available on iTunes, Qobuz , amazon ... Drumandvoice - BlackBird / Crystal Creek / Like A Dream / Time to Realize/Seven Days] > best regards H. :)

I had forgotten that belligerent ghouls run Manchester schools. Until I heard The Smiths again.

From nine top artists of you, you and I have 6 that both listening ... Miles, Coltrane, Green, Shorter, Morgan and Smith. I have always seen you around jazz artists' page. Nice! Jazz always makes me happy, smiling for the sun brightly, or, even, in raining days - in this case, a good jazz album full of ballads like Am I Blue by Grant Green, or Blue and Sentimental by Ike Quebec is most perfect. greetings from Brazil. Bye.

I know...it's difficult to leave it, becaue of unique Interpretations, even there are more "Zappaesque" Bands out there... do you catalogize Frank? i have done it this way: Frank only Frank Bootlegs Frank Compilations Frank Posthumous (Family Trust Catalogue, after Death) Frank unofficial releases Frank & Mothers and correctly tagged, lots of work...

Yes, it is a very large and diverse work. With some difficulty, I try to divide into three basic parts: The Mothers of Invention, orchestral work and guitar work. The Mothers of Invention part includes the entire non-instrumental compositions of Zappa, or compositions written exclusively for any of his bands. But, it is still more appropriate to call his entire work simply "Zappaesque," as you mentioned earlier.

yes, if talking about huge discographies it is necessary to split/divide. example like studio / live / collaborations / name changes like "Trio", *** Group, and so on / Bootlegs (if good quality or official)...at a certain amount of albums you will get lost whithout...my Frank Collection is right now 25.8 GB in 255 folders/subfolders....all sorted and tagged...musicians makes collectors life complicated :-) i fear when i start over with frank near future i will get lost as you :-)

Yep, Frank Zappa was funny and satirical. I like the early albums. It was Dada rock with a secret love for blues. For me, It started in 1956 with Elvis. That was only white R & B with hip shaking. Between 1965 and 1969 were the Beatles and Rolling Stones really good (and there were the Kinks, Animals and Who). From "Highway 61" came Bob Dylan with new lyrics and sound. Ecstasy instead exegesis. Jimi Hendrix was one of them. Velvet Underground, Lou Reed and David Bowie transformed the rock into an art form. Important to me are people like Kevin Ayers, John Fahey or Jorma Kaukonen. Everyone is responsible for his own life, the love and the music to that.
