Not reinventing the wheel here but Henry St. is another very solid album. It's in mostly the same vein as I Love You. It's a Fever Dream. but is a little bit looser and more fun sounding.

you're absolutely right, i was ridiculously stupid to expect modesty. although, by "small" i actually meant something more in line with "petty" and "narow-minded", not the size of his body. i was always sure his moniker is a result of him being able to joke about his height, but i suspect it's just a reverse-psych cover for insecurity. plus, i was astonished how impolite he was to his fans who approached him and arrived "too close to the stage" for his taste. he was playing in a cinema, btw. he is just a repulsive human being, and i would hate to be forced to share the same space with him.

That's a...weird statement. I went to his comeback concert to Italy this last July 5th and he was the one encouraging the fans to come closer. He was playing in an amphitheater so we were pretty distant and yet he was the one wanting us to get closer to the stage. After the show he came back after ten minutes, a Moretti beer in his hand, ready to talk with us fans who had stayed behind, waiting for him. It's pretty said you got a different experience than I did. I even have a selfie to prove it. We spoke for a solid 5 - 10 minutes and I didn't notice any of the pettiness or unpoliteness you accused him of.

I understand, even though it totally departs from my experience I've to say that sometimes things might go the wrong way. Who knows what happened that night that might have set him off. Hope he gets to reedem himself in your eyes as his music is really something and it would be a shame for you to totally lose interest in his work. Just to add to my own account of the evening: I can say I feel like he gave me the vibe of maybe feeling a little insecure after coming back on the scene after the long hiatus forced by the pandemic, but that's just what I noticed. I've got to say that this new found insecurity, however, made him really grateful with respect to the audience and he made it very clear a number of times during the show, even getting to the point of saying "I could not have expected you to being here after two years and I'm very grateful you are".

after i wrote the last comment to you, i thought: it might have been a cultural thing? croatian audiences sometimes do prove to be quite difficult to impress, they need to be courted and their allegiance deserved again and again. maybe he was less than impressed by sensing he needed to deserve the love of his fans, as opposed to his expectation that it was given unconditionally prior to him coming on stage? although, honestly, i wouldn't say it was the audience. people were acting normally, until he started talking about his guitar collection as if it were the most important thing in the world, and suddenly started telling some people to back off once they stood at the distance he deemed to close to himself (3 meters or more).

Saw him live few years ago and it was a truly mesmerizing performance, also came across very humble in his few interactions.. Maybe just a bad day? Happens, idk

I can't wait until I see him for the third time this summer! To hear I’m A Stranger Now live, and I hope that he will play some of his really early stuff like Over The Hills, Walk The Line, Into The Stream and Before The Morning Comes.

I Love You. It's A Fever Dream. settles to his most heartfelt, personal work yet. A beautiful record.

Even in 2012 on There's No Leaving Now, which was 6 years ago he sounded different. In interviews, his voice doesn't sound different, so maybe he just changed his style? His raspy, high-pitched sound was more akin to Bob Dylan.

Same here, the version of "Love Is All" makes you feel like you discover the song once again. But I admit I would have liked it better if we were given a new song or two.

some of the new versions really hurt the songs. especially love is all, interestingly enough.

Time Of The Blue and Rivers must be samples from the upcoming album? Because they suck as singles...
