Saecula Saeculorum, or Saecvla Saecvlorvm, is a progressive rock band that was created in 1974 in Minas Gerais, Brazil. Saecula's line up was Giacomo Lombardi (voice and keyboards), José Audisio (guitars), Bob Walter (drums), Edson Plá Vieguas (bass), Juninho (bass) and Marcus Viana (who later would become very famous and create the band "Sagrado Coração da Terra").
Saecula Saeculorum follows a symphonic rock sound, sounding like King Crimson, ELP, Yes, and Mahavishnu Orchestra. The band gives us great examples of virtuosi playing, with great themes played by violin, keyboards, guitars and bass.
Their first appearance was in a music festival named "camping pop". After that they recorded their first album, but the final results were not fitted to the radio stations in that time. After many years forgotten, Marcus Viana, already famous with his work in Sagrado Coração da Terra, found the original recordings and tried to save the recorded songs. He was able to recover 5 full songs and released the album "Saecula Saeculorum", one of the greatest examples of Brazilian progressive rock.
