In “Kamikaze”, Omar reminisces about the past, both the good and bad memories, especially surrounding this one past interest. He admits that he still has feelings for him, which are clearly unrequited, but that he is at a different stage in his life and is ready to move on.
The word Kamikaze alludes to Omar’s current dedication to pursue his dreams, leave his hometown, and most importantly, his love interest behind. This may be the inspiration for the song’s title.
The music video depicts Omar yearning back at fond memories, despite the fact that he’s now living an entirely different life. Even though it is difficult for him, he has kept his word and “left the state.”
The song is the second single off his 2020’s debut album Apolonio. On October 16, 2020, the music video was released with the album’s official release.
