Can't believe nobody's commented this yet. Hannes Grossmann (their drummer) just released an EP where 3 of the songs sound straight off Epitaph, and it's amazing. It's a real member of the band making Necrophagist music. Enjoy it, because it's the closest we're ever going to get to new Necrophagist

I listened to Necrophagist superficially back in the day because they had such a good reputation, but I feel like I didn't like them back then because Muhammad's vocals were too "extreme" for me. I stopped listening to metal for about a decade and now I'm back on the metal and started listening to Necrophagist again last year and something about it just clicked and now it all makes sense. Now I am devastated that there is only two albums ;_;

Latest rumor was than a 3rd album is pretty much done and on a hard drive in Muhammad's possession, he just can't bring himself to do everything that comes with being in a band anymore.

Best we can hope for is that he releases it online out of the goodness of his heart and all the fans understand that he doesn't want to be in a band anymore.

part of me still hopes that one day the unreleased/unfinished third album finds its way to a low-key release sometime. this band was way too good. even if it's super rough and unproduced, i hope that one day suicmez or someone else associated to the band just drops it on soulseek or some shit lol.

Muhammed : puts necrophagist on hold to focus on engineering career that is sustainable than being in a tech death band... everyone (apart from his parents) : disliked that

You know, it's coincidence, but their release of 2004 contains word "Epitaph". As far as I remember, those things are done if somebody is died. I just wanted to say by that they buried themselves metaphorically with that name (Epitaph). It's a good "farewell name" for an album. I know, sounds superstitious, still, new album hasn't come yet. Though, if they wanted to put "Epitaph" as their "farewell record", they'd gone pretty beautiful and memorable. Like good memories of the past with a thank-you feeling.
