Excellent album, a great way to introduce somebody to Zappa's works. Some excellent guitar work on this album, all in a tongue in cheek bombastic style meant to parody the bombast so common in mid-70s music. Love it.

I'm on the third or fourth listening and it's becoming one of my favourites. It has some of the the rock essence of the first mothers plus the beauty and virtuosity of his jazzy oriented instrumental albums and it's reasonably easy to listen.

Ranks right up there with Hot Rats, maybe even above. My favorite Zappa release ever. Each song has so much flavor and intensity.

The most technically impressive Zappa album. Zappa has said that this group was the tightest, musically, of any other configuration of the Mothers.

I've been a fan of the album for awhile but I finally got my hands on the vinyl.

I grabbed this out of a record bin for 2 bucks this week without even being sure if it was supposed to be any good or not. Turns out a part of why it was that cheap was that the previous owner had magic markered their name on the label, but it plays without any jumps or pops, and is in fact a pretty awesome album. Right now I'm a big fan of Florentine Pogen and Inca Roads.
