“Close to You” was one of the singles released for Dayglow’s second studio album "Harmony House". The sound is inspired by dance pop anthems from the 80s, and the song focuses on a pair of lovers who aren’t able to make introductions at a party. According to Sloan on Genius Lyrics for Spotify, it was originally written as a duet, but he thinks it works fine as a solo. In the music video, Sloan dances with reflections of himself.
