"get well soon" serves as the final track for Ariana's album "Sweetener". The extra 40 seconds after the outro serves as paying respect for the Manchester Bombing that happened in the Dangerous Woman Tour. Ariana also replied to a tweet on Twitter saying what the song is about, she replied: "isss ab my anxiety. i felt like i was floating for like 3 months last year & not in a nice way. like i outside my body? was v scary and i couldn’t breathe well. so it’s ab that. & lots of voices in my head singin. i hope it comforts ppl who hear it pls"

On a 2018 Beats 1 Interview, someone asked: Why was it called "get well soon?" Pharrell Williams (The Producer) commented: People who are often dealing with mental health issues don’t signal loud enough for the world to understand that they’re suffering. And also our hearing for people who are going through stuff like that needs work too; the way in which we listen and the way in which we acknowledge people. We need to pay attention to those signs and those signals.
What I love about “get well soon” is this is Ari going through something not quite as severe but going through a situation where she was depressed … and she had the willingness to put that out there for the world and that’s how we made “get well soon” because she was open and she trusted and she let me push.
We wanted this to be a hallmark card for that kind of situation.
